1. Welfare of States Compared to Votes

The electoral votes per states are 19 for Harris, 30 for Trump, and two states has a split vote: Maine with 3/4 Harris vs. 1/4 Trump and Nebraska with 1/5 Harris vs. 4/5 Trump. Maine is thus classified with Harris states and Nebraska with Trump states.

  • Of the voting-eligible population, less than a third voted for Trump. As a matter of fact, a larger share voted for someone else than Trump.
  • The difference in number of votes between Harris and Trump is less than 2.3 million votes, and 0.9% points.
  • Calculating the share of votes of the total ballots counted, Trump's share is 49.4% and Harris' 48.0%.
